  1. 1.Naja is shy residing under stones,mud walls,thick vegetation and in holes.It is diurnal,oviparous and feeds on frogs,lizards ,rats and other snakes.
  2. 2.It hibernates in winter.
  3. 3.Naja Naja is commonly called Indian cobra.
  4. 4.Body is elongated measuring 1 and half to 2m in length and divided into head, neck , trunk and tail.
  5. 5.The color of the body is brown or blackish.
  6. 6.Body is covered with smooth oblique scales without pits and are arranged in 15 to 25 rows.
  7. 7.Head is not differentiated from the neck.Head bears mouth,very small eyes with round pupils,nostrils between nasals and internasals.
  8. 8.Poison fangs are followed by 1 to 3 small teeth.
  9. 9.Naja is widely distributed in China,Philippines,India,Malaya islands,Australia,Tasmania.
