1. Lepsima is a common household pest, hiding in the damp cool places like basements, in books, under pictures. Clothes and wall-paper, etc., and feeding on starch, starched cloth or glue of book bindings. It is a fast runner.

3. Commonly known as sliver fish.
4. It is delicate, glistening silver white and fish-shaped insect, which avoids light.
5. Adults are primitively wingless.
6. Animal measures 1.25cm in length and is divided into head, thorax and abdomen.
7. Body surface is covered with loosely attached scales.
8. Mouth parts adapted to biting. Thorax has 3 pairs of small walking legs present.
9. Abdomen has 11 segments with a pair of small appendages, a pair of many jointed and cerci and median many jointed telson.
