1. Rana tigrina is commonly called Indian bull-frog.
2. Body is green with black patches along with yellow midrib on the dorsal surface and pale yellow on the ventral surface and divided into head and trunk.
3. Head is flat and more or less triangular and bears nostrils, eyes with eyelids and tympanum behind the eyes.
4. Limbs pentadactyl. Forelimbs are smaller with four fingers and hindlimbs are larger and bear five toes which are webbed.
5. Lower jaw without teeth, while upper jaw toothed.
6. Vomerine teeth are present in two groups one on each side of the internal nostrils.
7. Tongue is large, muscular and forked, attached in front and free behind.
8. Vertebrae are procoelous.
